His soon-to-launch cable channel, Revolt TV, has secured a deal with Time Warner Cable
(Yahoo!) - The entertainment figure formerly known as Puffy Daddy is still moving and shaking. Although the artist known as Diddy has had a lower profile of late, the entertainment executive known as Sean Combs has been wheelin' and dealin'. The New York Post is reporting that his soon-to-launch cable channel, Revolt TV, has secured a deal with Time Warner Cable that will give it the ability to tap into their 12 million subscribers and it'll get a fee from TWC.
Now Revolt has the potential to reach 22 million homes, since it previously wrapped up a deal with Comcast and its 10 million subscribers.
Combs didn't take the latest accomplishment lightly, speaking in business terms to the Post with a hint of his old hip-hop bravado. "It is rare in this time to be able to get carriage and to get a company as prestigious as Time Warner to believe in you and commit to you."
About now you're probably wondering exactly what Combs plans to offer viewers on Revolt. On Tuesday, speaking at the Cannes Lions advertising festival, Combs said he wants to go after MTV, the cable channel that helped make him a star. He's won two MTV Video Music Awards in the past and the channel also aired "Making the Band," which he produced.
