She is the new cast member on Lifetime's 'Army Wives'

…An Army Wife, that is. Singer turned actress Ashanti is the new castmember on Lifetime’s hit show “Army Wives” and she made her debut during the season 7 premier last Sunday.
Ashanti plays wifey Latasha Montclair who is a force of nature, an indomitable woman to whom “Southern Hospitality” isn’t just a concept, it’s a way of life. Latasha finds joy in navigating the daily chaos of single-handedly wrangling her three children – Quincy Jr. aka “Deuce,” 11, Nyah, 8, and Gabe, 6 – while her husband, Quincy (played by Joshua Henry), is deployed. Family always comes first, but she knows the value of a fun night out with her girlfriends and how a little “me time” goes a long way. Latasha is no stranger to struggle and heartache, but when life hands you lemons, she’ll show you how to make lemonade with a splash of sweet tea.
Nelly’s on-again, off-again love has been promoting her new show for weeks and can’t wait for fans and viewers to see her kill it on the small screen as the season progresses. She’s joined on the block by “Vampire Diaries” and “Pretty Little Liars” star Torrey Devitto, who joined with Ashanti in a bonding experience better known to most people as a bar fight in this week’s episode.
