A$AP Rocky suffered a terrible loss on Christmas Day - the death of his father. The rapper announced the tragedy on Twitter, writing, "I lost my father yesterday due to pneumonia, I can never look at Xmas the same. Forget this rap [stuff]. I want my Dad back."
He also added:

In interviews, the rapper has credited his father, a hip-hop fan, with giving him the first name Rakim.
