'TIME OUT NEW YORK' NAMES JAY-Z THE GREATEST NYC HIP HOP ARTIST
Time Out New York has named Jay-Z the greatest NYC hip hop artist. The publication named the 50 greatest NYC hip hop artists and Jay won the honor thanks to his "genre-bending collaboration" and for being the best at enduring "the day-in, day-out shift of the modern rap era."
The site said that Jay filled the void left by The Notorious B.I.G.'s death with albums like 1998 Vol 2. Hard Knock Life, 1999's Vol. 3 Life And Times of S.Carter and 2001's The Blueprint.
The Notorious B.I.G. himself came in at no.2. Other's who are on the list include, Kool Herc (No. 47), Digable Planets (No. 36), and Big Daddy Kane (No. 11), plus the new artists like Nicki Minaj (No. 35) and A$AP Rocky (No. 39). Rakim landed in the top 15., and Sean "Diddy" Combs landed at No. 7.
They said about Diddy, "Combs made his greatest impact on hip-hop with his entrepreneurial skill as the magnate behind Bad Boy. The template for every would-be empire builder who followed in his wake (not to mention the master of the original Harlem Shake)."

TAMAR BRAXTON IS HAVING A BABY BOY
Tamar Braxton's best friend Tameka "Tiny" Harris has let it slip in an interview that Tamar is expecting a baby boy. She said in an interview with Hip Hollywood, "I've seen HIS little face, she has a 4D picture." In an interview with People, Tamar has revealed why she and her hubby Vince decided to wait before deciding to announced that she was pregnant. Tamar -- who is in her third trimester, said, "Vince and I [were] told we were going to have fertility problems - it was a lot of information - so we had to get comfortable with the fact that it happened on its own/ We decided [not to announce the pregnancy] until we were both really okay with it - that's why we waited."
It looks like R&B star Monica may be pregnant -- for real this time. The singer was spotted at Jazz in the Gardens weekend in Hollywood, Florida this past weekend and she wore a loose fitting pink blazer and made sure she covered her belly with her hand when she took photos with fans. According to Theybf.com, a source confirmed that Monica is indeed pregnant. If this is true, this is Monica's third child, but first with hubby Shannon Brown.
According to TMZ.com, Reservoir Media Management has filed a suit against a company called Craze Productions over the rights to the late Aaliyah's music. Reservoir has claimed that Craze has been illegally selling songs from Aaliyah's Aaliyah and One in A Million albums. Reservoir has claimed that it is the sole owner of the songs -- acquiring the rights in 2012 and said that it never gave Craze permission to sell the music. Reservoir wants a judge to block Craze from peddling any more Aaliyah music ... and it wants $$$.
